American Legion Auxiliary
Locally, the American Legion Auxiliary, Breen Post 465, Department of Iowa, remains an active, 40-member unit, dedicated to community service and a host of charitable causes. The post was formed in 1930 and is named after local serviceman, Leo C. Breen, who was killed in combat during World War I.

The American Legion Breen Post #465 was established August 1, 1920. The American Legion Post #465 along with the VFW William H. Kennedy Post #4071 provides a color guard for military funerals and graveside rites and for Memorial Day observances. They also do a flag presentation for veterans' families, lead the Indian Day Parade.
